Description

Create a new file into a folder.


Payload components

The creation object may contains the following components:

Source Name Type Description Required
name string The name of the file to be created. Max length: 254 characters. Yes.
number number A number for the file. Yes.
Folder folder_id string (GUID) The ID of the existing folder container. If you do not include this field a new folder will be created using the value of the field folder_name as name. Optional when you use folder_name.
folder_name string The name for a new Folder associated. If you leave this value empty you will need to define a value for folder_id. Max length: 254 characters. Optional when you use folder_id.
Client client_id string (GUID) The ID for an existing Client associated. If you do not include this field you will need to define a value for client_name. Optional when you use client_name.
client_name string The name for a new Client associated. If you do not include this field you will need to define a value for client_id. Max length: 254 characters. Optional when you use client_id.
User user_id string (GUID) The ID for an existing User to be the file's owner. Optional. If you do not include this field, the current authenticated user will be selected as default owner.
File status file_status_id string (GUID) The ID for the File status for the new file. Optional. If you do not include this field, a default value will be selected. Check documentation for more details.
File template file_template_id string (GUID) The ID for the File template for the new file. Optional. If you do not include this field, a default value will be selected. Check documentation for more details.

Creating a file for an existing folder and client

If you need to create a file for existing folder and existing client you will need to include values for these fields:

  • folder_id
  • client_id
Fields folder_name and client_name will be ignored.

If you need to create a file for an existing folder and, in the same action, you need to create a new client, you should include values for these fields:

  • folder_id
  • client_name
Fields folder_name and client_id will be ignored. A new client will be created with the name specified.

A 400 error is returned if you have some invalid data into your payload, i.e.: biggest text fields, invalid IDs, etc.
